Research
I invite people diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome to take part in a study examining the effectiveness of PRT therapy in the treatment or remission of symptoms of this burdensome condition. Participation in the study provides free access to group workshops and/or psychoeducational materials.
The study will take place in August 2026, but registration is already open.
If you are not a fan of psychological techniques, you are welcome to join the control group, which focuses solely on studying the impact of psychoeducation on improving the quality of life of people with fibromyalgia. Psychoeducation is an integral part of PRT, which is why it is necessary to examine its effect separately.
Registration includes two groups to choose from:
The psychoeducation group The psychoeducational group will receive access to 10 educational modules, about one hour of learning per week.
The PRT group will receive access to 10 workshop modules combining psychoeducation with psychological techniques such as somatic tracking, relaxation, emotional work and self-compassion.
Participants in both groups will be required to complete a full set of questionnaires three times: once at registration, once before the study begins and once at the end. The questionnaires measure quality of life, sleep quality, self-compassion, functional pain level, HPA axis condition, personality traits, pain-related experiences and stress coping styles.
The results of the study will be anonymous and used in academic work examining the effectiveness of PRT and its components for patients living with fibromyalgia syndrome.
At the request of a participant, I can send individual results from selected questionnaires together with a description and interpretation.
